7 -8 days

Day 1 – Arrival at Czorsztyn
We leave Krakow in the afternoon and arrive in the evening at the Czorszczyn Lake. The Czorsztyn Lake, created by the construction of a water dam on the Dunajec river in Niedzica, is located between Gorce and Pieniny Mountains and thus has extremely picturesque surroundings, including the ruins of Czorsztyn and Niedzica castles. This afternoon we spend accommodating in the area and the evening is entertained by the campfire.

Day 2 – Cycling tour around the Czorsztyn lake
After breakfast we take a boat across the Czorsztyn lake and then we take a scenic bike ride around the Czorsztyn lake. The loop trail, about 40km long, is mostly idyllic ride almost level with the surface of the lake except few small climbs and single big one that rewards you with magnificent lake and mountain views. You bypass bays, marinas and forests. The ride ends in a hammock recreational area where you rest and admire the sunset in a uniquely romantic landscape.

Day 3 – Hiking in Pieniny National Park
Early in the morning, after breakfast, we leave Czorsztyn and enter Pieniny National Park. Located in the Dunajec river basin, Pieniny National Park boasts the most valuable ecosystems relicts – beech and sycamore forests, relict pine forests, or the thermophilic meadow species. Pieniny National Park was established (along with his counterpart PIENAP in Slovakia) in 1932 as the first national park in Poland and the first in Europe, as the second in the world – international protected area. The park is popular mostly because of the amazing nature and incredible views – jagged cancerous rocks, gorges, precipices, green meadows with many species of butterflies, and a wild river.

On this day we walk a scenic trail that leads to Trzy Korony (982m) and Sokolica (747m) from where you can admire an amazing view over the Dunajec gorge, Tatras, Gorce mountains and Beskid Sądecki. The trail ends in picturesque Szczawnica health resort where we stay overnight.

Day 4 – Cycling, river rafting and sightseeing
After breakfast we take a picturesque 1,5h bike ride along Dunajec river from Szczawnica to Sromowce Nizne. After finishing our ride we take an exciting
adventure of rafting down the Dunajec river, one of the most beautiful rivers in Poland. The route runs along the Polish-Slovakian border in a deep canyon among the high mountains of the Pieniny. The crossing of this section is neither demanding nor dangerous. Rafting is safe and everyone can enjoy this attraction regardless of age or physical condition. The 14 km adventure takes about 2-2,5 hours beginning in Sromowce Nizne and ending in Szczawnica.

In the afternoon, we take a tour around Szczawnica, one of the most beautiful spa resorts in Poland. After dinner, we travel to Zakopane.

Day 5 – Red Peaks Trail
On the fifth day we take an easy but long traverse of the Red Peaks (4 summits over 2000 m), a picturesque tour on the main ridge of the Tatras. The starting point is Kuznice where we take a cable car to Kasprowy Wierch. The Red Peaks take their name from unique colours in autumn and it is a really rewarding hike as the scenery over the Tatras are amazing!

The trail’s length is 6-7h.

Day 6 – Trail to the Valley of Five Lakes and Morskie Oko Lake
On the sixth day, early in the morning, we get to Palenica Bialczanska where we take a scenic 4,5h trail through beautiful Roztoka Valley towards one of the most magical and unique corners in the Tatra Mountains – the Valley of Five Lakes. On the trail you see the waterfalls, including highest waterfall in the Polish Tatras – Siklawa. Once you get to the top you can rest at the shelter – the highest mountain hostel in the Polish Tatras (1670m). From the Valley of Five Lakes we take a 5h trail (through Swistowka Roztocka) to the Morskie Oko Lake (“The Sea Eye”), 1395m. This postglacial, emerald-green lake is considered to be one of the most famous and gorgeous mountain lakes in the world. Situated at the Rybi Potok Valley surrounded by rock peaks of Tatra Mountains, its crystal clear water mesmerizes everyone who sees it. We spend the entire afternoon at the lake where we can also have a traditional Polish meal in one of the oldest wooden shelters in the Tatra Mountains. From Morskie Oko Lake we either walk back or take a horse carriage back to Palenica Bialczanska.
The trail’s length is 8-10h.
